Hello! Today I woke up at ~09:30 which is earlier than I was expecting. I’m still sick so I felt like absolute hell. I messaged my coworker asking if she would be willing to cover my shift today but she said she couldn’t so I gotta go to work. I’m feeling a little better at the time of writing this though.

I spent my time before work implementing an RSS feed for my website. I personally don’t really use RSS but after seeing someone on IRC do an RSS feed for their personal site I felt like I had to do it too. I had to crack open the Jekyll and Liquid documentation for the first time in a year. It wasn’t too hard though. Took me maybe an hour and a half to do.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t get images working correctly so instead I just have the description for each post set to tell the user to go to the site to read the post. It’s not ideal and I was really hoping I could have it so the user can just read the post in their news aggregator but it’ll have to do. I feel pretty good about doing it though :)

I feel much better today and work went by pretty smoothly. Next for my site I’d like to fix the RSS feed to show the time of posting for entries. Currently it only shows the date with the time set to 00:00. I’d probably have to start adding an exact time to the front matter of my entries. Currently I just have it configured to read the date from the file name (YYYY-MM-DD-posttitle.md).
