Hey. It’s been a while. I wanted to update this diary and I just noticed…out of all days for me to say “hey, lemme update this diary” it was the exact day this diary turns 1 year old! What a strange coincidence.

So, fun fact, building habits is extremely hard for me. It’s a miracle I kept that diary going for 2 months straight. That’s some craziness. The only reason I kept it going for that long was because I forced myself to do it every day. And, of course, the day I skip making an entry is the day I stopped updating the diary for good. My brain is very dumb like that.

Yesterday I decided to finally make a 88x31 button for this site. It only took me nearly 2 years to do it. Incredible.

Anyways my life isn’t very exciting honestly. Since my last post not much has changed. Behind the scenes I’ve been focused on self-hosting things that I want to use. I run everything (including this website!) on my home serer. So far I am running: A web server, a music server, a file server, and an IRC client/bouncer. Soon I want to run my own low-latency streaming which would be at watch.calciu.me but I’ve been running into a few WebRTC-related issues on that front. It’d be nice to have a way to have quality screensharing without having to get on shitass Discord which barely works with audio on Linux. If I had my own thing I can just use OBS which is much nicer on Linux.

I think I enjoy doing sysadmin/IT stuff more than programming or web design or any of that. Will I ever be able to make a career out of this? Probably not but I’m having fun. I’m not going to update you on every little detail of the past 9 months (I couldn’t remember everything anyways) so I’ll just end it here. I don’t know if this will be a daily thing again but ¯\(ツ)/¯
